Zizzers Crush Glendale 42-18 at Home
We just weren’t sure where ‘home field’ was going to be for this game. Thankfully, the Zizzers got to play on their own turf at McDonald’s Stadium after flood damage ruined it earlier this year. And what a great way to “christen” the new field with a big win over Glendale (whose QB was last years Gatorade Player of the Year after throwing 76 touchdowns!) Last year Glendale’s QB was able to...
Zizzers Surge To Defeat Camdenton 25 to 24
It’s never fun to travel to Camdenton to take on the Lakers on their turf. Most teams that do so leave with their heads low and their tails dragging. And for the last 2 years, every time the Zizzer varsity football team has played in Lakers’ territory, we’ve managed to pull off a one point victory riding the clock down to zero, biting our nails the whole time. And this day would be no different! What are the odds of...
Zizzers Defeat Waynesville At Home 48 to 26
After a slow Zizzer start, a rainbow and a visit from the Zizzer mascot (lightning bolt), the Zizzers return from an hour-long weather delay to stage a massive, unanswered 34-point run to win the game at home! A strange start to the season, but a win is a win! It was a warm, humid evening as the Zizzers first game of the season opened up and a light rain began, eventually leading to a rare double rainbow at Zizzer stadium. But that...
Zizzers Defeat Camdenton in Playoffs
The Zizzers narrowly esced aped with a victory on the road at Camdenton with one of the most crazy finishes ever in a high school football game, 29-28. If you missed this game, you missed a real nail-biter. The Zizzers were up and down and up again throughout this game, coming back from a 14 point deficit to earn the victory, and the opportunity to move up to the next slot in the post-season bracket (facing off against Webb City...
Homecoming: Zizzers Blast Rolla 28-6
It was a beautiful evening for football and Homecoming 2016 as the Zizzers hosted Rolla for a season ending victory. The weather was nice: crisp and cool, but a bit warm by October standards. The football was well executed. The Zizzer Pride Band played well (and waited patiently) as the Homecoming court worked their magic on the field at halftime. It was a nice way to have a season finale with a decided victory over Rolla, 28-6. Next...
Victory Over The Vikings
Another record-breaking night of football for the Zizzers, on the road as they faceoff against the Parkview Vikings, and Keegan Hoopes breaks 2 more Zizzer football records, as the Zizzers claim victory over the Vikings, 57 to 32. Here’s how the game played out (taken from our live Facebook update posts)… Jett (#39) returns the kickoff to the 40 yard line. Now let’s get to work boys! Rackley (#8) is mostly handing...
