Zizzer Cross Country Sweeps Districts
Cross Country Zizzers continue their winning ways! After sweeping the Ozark Conference Championship, both teams (boys and girls) went on to sweep at Nixa. Congratulations Zizzer Cross Country! 40 years of Zizzer Tradition. The boys race started with 2 Kickapoo runners taking an early lead, but just barely. Our Zizzer boys lead by Ben Stasney stayed close behind the 2 lead runners and by the 2nd mile they were in passing distance. By...
Zizzers Defeat Bolivar 42-21, Advancing
Now that we’re in the post-season, every game is Live or Die. The Zizzers live to play another game by pounding Bolivar 42-21 with a record setting performance from sophomore Brayden Lidgard. But early mistakes allowed Bolivar to keep it close during the first half. We must clean up our sloppy mistakes to stand a chance against Carl Junction’s defense. You can do it Zizzers! First, kudos to sophomore Brayden Lidgard (and...
Zizzers Rout Rolla 63-28, Finish Season 7-2
The Zizzers finished their regular season with a record of 7-2 after easily defeating Rolla’s Bulldogs with a 63-28 victory. Zizzers move on to District Round 1 competition next. The Zizzers started out on the very first play, by recovering their kickoff to Rolla after a fumble. Then 3 downs later, they scored on a Brayden Lidgard drive – not surprising when you consider he’s rushed for 33 TDs this season alone. Of...
Zizzer Cross Country Sweeps Ozark Conference
It’s a pretty common headline in ZizzerNation – “Zizzer Cross Country Sweeps Ozark Conference” – and it’s happened again this season! Both Zizzer Cross Country teams, boys and girls, earned the top position in the Ozark Conference. Good job Zizzers! Zizzer boys results: Ben Stasney, 1st – 16:51.30 Ethan Hutchinson, 2nd – 16:57.46 Jacob McCrackin, 3rd – 17:02.74 Caleb Boys, 4th...
Zizzers Defeat Parkview 42-12, Improve to 6-2
After a rough first half, the Zizzers revved their engines in the 2nd half to defeat Parkview 42-12, improving their season record to 6-2. I don’t think anyone expected Parkview to win this week, given their 1-6 record coming in to the game. But at the end of the first half, the Vikings only trailed the Zizzers by 2 points (14-12 Zizzers). I don’t know about anyone else, but I fully expected the Zizzers to have 21 points...
Football Zizzers Narrowly Fall To Joplin 26-28, Season Record 4-1
It was a nail-biting, frustrating time at McDonald Field watching our previously undefeated Zizzers battle it out, trying desperately to earn a win against Class 6 Joplin to remain undefeated. But after some Zizzer mistakes and an obviously bad call from the officials, the game belonged to Joplin, even as the Zizzers mounted an amazing momentum-fueled drive during the final 50 seconds. The first half of the game belonged to the...
