Homecoming: Zizzers Go 7-0 Defeating Waynesville 44-13
It’s always great to win at Homecoming – and this year’s win was extra special for two reasons: (1) the 50th year reunion & celebration of the only undefeated Zizzer football season, and (2) the breaking of a 17 year old Zizzer football record. In 1968, the Zizzer football team not only won Homecoming, but they won every other game they played that season. It was a perfect record. And no other Zizzer football...
Zizzers Route Parkview 49-14 For 6-0 Season
The game started with a bang, as senior Dalton Lucas #14 received the kickoff on the 2 yard line and ran it 98 yards, zig-zagging his way past Vikings as his team mates setup some nice blocks. Then Coach Ary called for a 2 point conversion to Marcak #18. And just like that the Zizzers were up 8-0 with only 13 seconds of play time. Wow! What a way to start the game! But then the Vikings did something that few teams have been able to do...
Zizzers Defeat Bolivar 42-21, Advancing
Now that we’re in the post-season, every game is Live or Die. The Zizzers live to play another game by pounding Bolivar 42-21 with a record setting performance from sophomore Brayden Lidgard. But early mistakes allowed Bolivar to keep it close during the first half. We must clean up our sloppy mistakes to stand a chance against Carl Junction’s defense. You can do it Zizzers! First, kudos to sophomore Brayden Lidgard (and...
Zizzers Rout Rolla 63-28, Finish Season 7-2
The Zizzers finished their regular season with a record of 7-2 after easily defeating Rolla’s Bulldogs with a 63-28 victory. Zizzers move on to District Round 1 competition next. The Zizzers started out on the very first play, by recovering their kickoff to Rolla after a fumble. Then 3 downs later, they scored on a Brayden Lidgard drive – not surprising when you consider he’s rushed for 33 TDs this season alone. Of...
Zizzers Defeat Parkview 42-12, Improve to 6-2
After a rough first half, the Zizzers revved their engines in the 2nd half to defeat Parkview 42-12, improving their season record to 6-2. I don’t think anyone expected Parkview to win this week, given their 1-6 record coming in to the game. But at the end of the first half, the Vikings only trailed the Zizzers by 2 points (14-12 Zizzers). I don’t know about anyone else, but I fully expected the Zizzers to have 21 points...
