Lady Zizzers’ Championship Season Ends in State Quarterfinals
The Lady Zizzers’ season ended one win short of the Final Four, but West Plains closes 2026 with 32 wins, a district championship and plenty to be proud of.

A Championship Earned in Five Sets
The Lady Zizzers reached Saturday’s quarterfinal by winning a district final that went down to the deciding set.
West Plains defeated Carl Junction on Oct. 27, taking the Class 4 District 6 championship 25–21, 20–25, 25–14, 18–25, 15–13. After the teams split the first four sets, the Lady Zizzers pulled out the fifth to secure the title and bring a state quarterfinal home to West Plains. www.newstribune.com

The Run Ends at Home
Helias took Saturday’s opening set 25–22, then won the next two sets by matching 25–17 scores to advance to the state semifinals. West Plains finished its run among the final eight teams in Class 4. ellington.newstribune.com
The Lady Zizzers came into the afternoon with a chance to extend their season to the Final Four. Falling short of that goal was a difficult ending, especially for the seniors playing their final match in a West Plains uniform.
But their final afternoon together was part of a much bigger season—one that gave their families, classmates and community so much to cheer for.

Thirty-two wins and a district championship represent a season worth celebrating.
For the seniors, that title will always be part of the memories they share from their time wearing Zizzer red. For the returning players, this postseason run becomes experience they can carry into next season.
