2018 Football Jamboree

The Zizzers hosted a football jamboree at home with guest schools: Thayer Bobcats, Mt. Grove Panthers, and Liberty Eagles. As usual at the annual jamboree, each of the schools took the opportunity to put their team to the test and to give looks to some of their new and/or younger players.

The Zizzers returned with their experienced players, and a few new faces. From what we saw at the Jamboree – it’s going to be a very exciting season this year!

Speaking of new faces, we saw several successful offensive plays involving freshman Connor Lair #40. He will be a welcome addition to our already powerful offensive arsenal. It will be good to have even more running-back options so we can keep pounding away at our opponent’s defenses.

Speaking of defense, the Zizzer defense includes a healthy Jake Swope – no more crutches! Combined with Dylan Scaggs and we have some serious height and weight size to intimidate with! Plus, most of last year’s #1 ranked defense in the Ozark Conference is back again this year!

Varsity starting QB, Connor Rackley (junior) was out due to injuries, but we expect to see him back in a few weeks. Stepping up to fill the vacancy, senior Parker Ramseur had a good showing, which just gives us even more depth.

All in all, we are looking for a great season this year! We have a ton of experienced players returning. We have a new District assignment from MSHSAA – we don’t face Webb City or Carl Junction unless its for the State Championship.  It’s going to be a very interesting season! #GoZizzers!
