The Zizzers narrowly esced aped with a victory on the road at Camdenton with one of the most crazy finishes ever in a high school football game, 29-28. If you missed this game, you missed a real nail-biter. The Zizzers were up and down and up again throughout this game, coming back from a 14 point deficit to earn the victory, and the opportunity to move up to the next slot in the post-season bracket (facing off against Webb City next).
Earlier this season, Camdenton visited West Plains and handed us the first loss of this season (55-41). This time, the roles were reversed. The Zizzers traveled to Camdenton to hand them their final loss for the post-season. It was pay-back time. And with a handful of the Lakers top players sitting out due to injuries, the Zizzers took advantage of it in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Camdenton extended their lead to 14 points at one point in the game. But the Zizzer defense stepped up and provided 2 big stops against the Lakers offense, which gave our own Zizzer offense a chance to demonstrated their skills. And this game was filled with exciting moments!

Lakers drive and score with 1:37 in the half remaining. Zizzers trail 14 to 7. Rackley to Hoopes all the way to the 40 yard line. Lakers interception. Holding on the Lakers. Jett 39 makes the tackle. Cornish swats the ball away! End of the half.
Lakers recieve the kickoff after the half. First down. Lakers pitch and run. First down. Up the middle. Stopped by Ary 44. Penalty called on the Lakers. Mahan takes down. Offside on Zizzers. Nichols makes the stop. Lakers pass and get the TD. Zizzers trail 21 to 7. 6:52 in the 3rd quarter.
7 Lidgard receives the kickoff and takes it all the way to the end zone! Cressman’s kick is good again. Zizzers trail 21 to 14. 6:35 in the 3rd quarter. BOOM!
Zizzer penalty on the Laker return. Zizzer defense stops Lakers on the 1st down. Lakers sweep right and get the first down. Cornish knocks him out of bounds hard. Ary gets the take down. Zizzer penalty. Nichols stops him behind the line! Lakers run it in for the TD. Zizzers trail 28 to 14. 1:59 in the 3rd quarter. Holloway carries for the first down! Wheeler stops the pass and Zizzers take over on downs! 59 seconds remaining. Zizzers fumble! 48 seconds to go. Nichols makes the stop. Nichols again! Wheeler stops the pass. 4th and 10, Lakers. 21 seconds. Lakers kick, no good. Penalty called on the Zizzers. 14 seconds.
Lakers drive and score, but a penalty brings it back. 6 seconds to go. 1st and 10.Ball on 12. Lakers are going to kick with 6 seconds left. Zizzer time out. Zizzers block the kick! And recover the ball touch back! Zizzers win again! Defeating the Lakers at their home! Zizzers advance to Webb City next week. Congratulations Zizzers!
