Any game where a Zizzer record is shattered, and the Zizzers lead by 4 at the half against Kickapoo, should be considered a great game. But in the end, Kickapoo rallied back to earn a decisive win, even though Hoopes destroyed the Zizzer career record for touchdowns – and he still has more games to go!
Congrats to Keegan Hoopes for 46 career TD’s, and we’re only halfway through the season. We fully expect Hoopes to set the bar so high that it will be decades before someone comes close to it. You’ve done an amazing job Keegan. And Coach Ary has built his offensive and defensive strategies with you in mind.
The night started a bit rough. Zizzers got stopped on their first drive. Kickapoo got the ball. Mahan (#4) gets the takedown. Wilbanks (#68) gets the big stop on 3rd down. But a Zizzer penalty helps the Chiefs. Kickapoo drives it in for the TD. Zizzers trail 7 to 0 in the first quarter.
Holloway (#33) carries for 9. Nichols for the first down. Randolph (#2) to Hackworth (#87) for the first down. Randolph to Hackworth for 3. Hoopes carries for the first down. Randolph to Cornish (#84) for 8. Hoopes finds the gap and blasts to the end zone – and sets the Zizzer career record for TDs: 46! Wow! And the night is still young! Cressman’s kick misses the mark unfortunately.
Zizzer defense stops Kickapoo! It’s Zizzer time! Holloway carries for 8. Hoopes carries for the first down. Hoopes carries for 2. Randolph to Nichols for the first down. Holloway to Nichols but not enough for the first down. Zizzers punt deep (Cornish).
Nichols makes a big take down! Zizzers defense makes the big stop again! It’s Zizzer time now! End of the 1st quarter. Zizzers trail 6 to 7.
Kickapoo penalty on Hoopes gives the Zizzers a little bonus. But Kickapoo stops the drive. Zizzers punt to the 25. Kickapoo holding penalty slows them down. But Kickapoo drives for the TD. Zizzers trail 14 to 6. 9:15 in the half. Come on Zizzers!
Hoopes gets 2. Randolph to Warren (#45) for 7. Hoopes for the first down. Randolph to Hoopes pass for 3. Randolph to Hackworth Kickapoo personal foul. First down!
Hoopes (#26) breaks the Zizzer record for career touchdowns! (46)
Hoopes drives almost to the end zone, but a Zizzer penalty stops it. Brings it back to repeat 2nd down. Long pass to Cornish incomplete. Hoopes breaks the grab and runs long for the first down! Randolph to Hackworth for the first down on the 12. Go Zizzers!
Hoopes drives for the TD! That’s his 47th career TD. The extra point conversion is good! Rackley to Nichols! Zizzers tie it up at 14. 5:01 remains in the half. Now the crowd is going crazy.
Zizzers defense makes another big stop against Kickapoo! Smith on the take down. Then Holloway recieves and takes it long to the 25! Hoopes for 4. Hoopes carries for 5. Hoopes for the first down. Randolph to Nichols for 9. First down. Randolph keeps the ball and grabs the TD all by himself! Cressman’s kick is good! Zizzers lead 21 to 14. 27 seconds remaining in the half.
Kickapoo kicks a loooong field goal. And it’s good. Zizzers lead 21 to 17 at the half.
Kickapoo comes back after the half driving hard. Zizzers defense is working hard. Kickapoo scores. Zizzers trail 21 to 24. 9:06 in the 3rd quarter. Let’s go Zizzers!
Kickapoo stops the Zizzer drive. Deep punt. Jett (#39) gets the take down. And again. Incomplete pass. First down Kickapoo. Holding on Kickapoo. Rackley on defense with the take down. Nichols makes the take down. 4th and 9. Kickapoo will kick. Field goal is good. Zizzers trail 21 to 27. 5:34 in the 3rd quarter.
Hoopes gets caught behind the line and taken down. Roughing the QB against Kickapoo. First down. Nichols gets the ball knocked out of his hands and Kickapoo recovers. Come on Zizzers!
Nichols makes the take down. (Revenge for earlier?) But Kickapoo scores with a QB keeper. Zizzers trail 21 to 35. 1:53 remains in the 3rd quarter. Come on Zizzers!
Randolph to Holloway for 5. Randolph to Nichols for the first down. Nichols is down. Quick prayer from the Zizzer sideline. Thank God! Nichols is up. First down Zizzers. Randolph to Warren for 5. Long pass to Holloway is blocked. Should’ve been a Kickapoo penalty on that one. End of 3rd quarter. Zizzers trail 21 to 35.

Mahan intercepts in the end zone! Awesome! Rackley keeps for 2. Rackley to Holloway for 6. Hoopes gets the first down. Rackley scrambles. Rackley is sacked. Kickapoo takes over. 3:15 remains. Zizzers trail 21 to 42.
