The West Plains Lady Zizzers broke into the win column in dramatic fashion Friday, September 11, defeating Waynesville and Camdenton in back-to-back 5-4 matches during a doubleheader.
West Plains entered the day still searching for its first victory of the season. By the time the Lady Zizzers left the courts, they had two.

Two Matches Come Down to the Wire
Neither victory came easily.
The Lady Zizzers battled through a pair of tightly contested matches, with both team results ultimately decided by a single point.
West Plains first edged Waynesville 5-4 to earn its first victory of the season, then turned around and did it again against Camdenton, winning by the identical 5-4 score.
The Lady Zizzers described a day filled with big wins, comeback performances and closely contested matches as West Plains continued fighting through difficult spots and finding ways to finish.
A Big Step Forward
Beyond adding two victories to the season record, the doubleheader represented an important step forward for a young West Plains team.
The Lady Zizzers had come close earlier in the season, including another narrow 5-4 decision, but Friday they were able to turn those tight matches into victories — twice in the same day.
West Plains’ junior varsity players also saw valuable court time during the doubleheader, gaining match experience as they continue developing for the varsity program.
One win became two before the day was over.
