Congratulations to the Varsity Football Zizzers for their record-breaking victory over the Glendale Falcons, at home 71-58!
The Football Zizzers broke a West Plains scoring record when they rallied to earn 71 points! Way to go Zizzers!
But the game did not start out so well for the Zizzers. In the first quarter the Falcons charged ahead 22-0, and anyone might have expected the Zizzers to lose heart. BUT they did NOT! Before the end of the first quarter the Zizzers put 6 points on the board and began to generate some momentum. Near the end of the 2nd quarter, Zizzers had fought their way to 20 points compared to the Falcons 28. But then the Falcons answered back and charged forward to 36 points, with the Zizzers at 28.
Near the end of the 3rd quarter the Zizzers battled hard to nearly catch the Falcons with 42 points to Glendale’s 44. Then the Zizzers began to take the lead 48-44 with 1:18 left on the clock. Go Zizzers!
Halfway through the 4th quarter Zizzers were up to 56 points, with Glendale at 50. With 4:32 left in the game the Zizzers blasted head to 64 points, and the Falcons did not have an answer. With 1:27 left the Zizzers earned a record-breaking 71 points, to Glendale’s 58. What a tremendous game!
